✨ May 3rd 2026 🔥 1-4pm 🧹 @ Indigo Thrive

This is going to be a big one! This class is two parts and two teachers. 🧹 Part one is making your own besom with Danita. She's such a great wealth of knowledge and a true boon to our community! 👯‍♀️ Part 2 will be led by Shana, as she teaches a quick group lesson on Morris dancing.

✨ Here's a little bit about what the besom portion will entail straight from Danita:

"Befuddled by no-winter, then slow-spring? Take heart! Bealtaine (Irish. Pronounced "Bee-yowl-tinneh"), will be here soon. Otherwise known in non-Irish circles as Beltane, the Fire Festival is celebrated April 30 - May 1st; although the entire month of May is considered Bealtaine in Ireland.
Remember The Aunties in the movie Practical Magic? Get your brooms, ladies! Bealtaine is huge for cleansing, protection work, and pushing those boundaries. In this joint Bealtaine Workshop with Shana Estes, you will not only learn practical Broom-Lore (not Irish), you will also create your own Intentional Besom. Whether as an original art piece that brings "a bit of luck and ward", or a charged Magical Tool; here is a chance to revisit women's tradition. Best of all, you carry to your "Hearth 'n Home" a work of art you create with your own hands. As The Aunties on Practical Magic said, "There is a little witch in all of us"!"
✨ And here's a little bit about border Morris dancing and why we chose this:
"Morris dancing is a traditional folk dance of the British Isles that rose to life during seasonal festivals like May Day and Beltane, when communities gathered to welcome summer and stir the land awake. The Border Morris tradition, rooted along the Welsh and English border, carries a wilder, earthier energy. Faces often darkened, ribbons flying, sticks striking in rhythmic patterns, dancers moved from place to place raising vitality, protection, and prosperity for the season ahead. Its spirit echoes the fire and fertility celebrations found in Irish Beltane customs, where music, movement, and community were woven together to bless the turning of the year. In this class, we’ll step into that same current of bold, grounded joy, using rhythm and motion as a living celebration of summer’s return. No experience or training necessary."
